About Pickled Beats
Mike Addyman
Mike Addyman started playing bass on his father's
jazz style Gibson guitar in high school. That was
the late 60's, and years of school dances, college
mixers, and club / house gigs taught him a fine
appreciation for ensemble playing and a wide
diversity of music styles. At various times Mike
played in country, folk, rock, pop, and jazz
ensembles (sometimes with the same guys). In 1980,
Mike quit performing for 15 years to get married,
raise 4 kids, and have a heart attack. In the mid
90s Mike started getting back into music by
attending open stage jam sessions around the area.
This was where he met Steve and Gary. Mike adores
Alembic basses for their tone and looks.
Mike's solid and melodic bass lines are the perfect complement to Andy's pulsing rhythms.
